Oral history interview with Antonio H. and Beverley Calvo, 12 October 2004.

Antonio H. Calvo describes his experiences growing up in San Fernando; his parents' immigration from Sonora, Mexico and his mother's work in the citrus industry; working in his family's restaurant, Las Delicias Café; his courtship and marriage to Beverley Calvo; his work as a teacher, counselor, and administrator in the Los Angeles Unified School District; his involvement with the Latin American Civic Association and the League of United Latin American Citizens; his work with Julian Nava and Rodolfo Acuña; the affects of a teachers strike; their experiences during the 1971 Sylmar Earthquake; and his teaching experiences in El Salvador. Beverley speaks about what it was like to marry into a Mexican-American family; her social work; and the lives of their children and grandchildren.

Board of Education of the City of Los Angeles et al. was a case in which the California Supreme Court ordered the Los Angeles Unified School District to formulate a feasible plan to desegregate its schools.
